America Climate Futures

America Climate Future’s, from Forum for the Future, and its partners are co-developing practical guidance for the private sector to accelerate action on climate justice, uncovering opportunities for a multi-sectoral and collaborative approach. The aim is to identify opportunities for accelerated action by engaging with communities to understand shared needs, building out case studies and ascertaining high impact areas where the private sector can make progress on Net Zero targets, while centering justice and equity.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay Transportation Partner

Since joining the SmartWay® program in 2006, Kimberly-Clark has consistently ranked among the SmartWay® shippers who meet or exceed the emissions and carrier selection standards that the EPA outlines for clean, efficient transportation. The most recent High Performer designation was granted in 2023.

Renewable Thermal Collaboriative (RTC)

The Renewable Thermal Collaborative (RTC) serves as the leading coalition for organizations that are committed to scaling up renewable heating and cooling at their facilities and dramatically cutting carbon emissions. RTC members recognize the growing demand and necessity for renewable heating and cooling and the urgent need to meet this demand in a manner that delivers sustainable, cost-competitive options at scale. The RTC members include manufacturers and state and local governments. The RTC sponsors are renewable thermal suppliers, producers, and professional service firms that provide important institutional support for the RTC’s work to advance renewable thermal solutions for large customers

Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

The SBTi is a corporate climate action NGO that works in partnership with CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and We Mean Business Coalition commitments. There are two sides to the SBTi: a Standard Setter which develops the rigorous scientific standards for setting science-based targets for companies and financial institutions and a separate entity which validates science-based targets, to ensure their alignment with the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5C.

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Climate Business Network (CBN)

The Climate Business Network (CBN) features companies committed to transforming their businesses to dramatically reduce their emissions throughout their entire value chain. Each partner works both bilaterally with WWF climate experts and with other CBN members to drive forward on issues such as setting and implementing Science-Based Targets, engaging their supply chains and investing in emissions reductions beyond their value chain. CBN is a procompetitive platform; all CBN activities are conducted in accordance with applicable antitrust laws.

Industrial Energy Consumers of America (IECA)

A non-profit, member-led organization to help manufacturing companies for which the availability, use, and cost of energy, power, or feedstock play a role in their ability to compete in domestic and world markets. IECA has six organized committees; Kimberly-Clark is a member of the Energy Committee.

United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Green Power Partnership (GPP)

Encourage organizations to use green power voluntarily to protect human health and the environment. The goals of the Green Power Partnership are to: Advance the American market for green power; Encourage the development of new U.S.-based renewable electricity sources; Reduce air emissions and pollution; Recognize leadership and impact in green power use; Support basic market principles and practices that serve all U.S. electricity consumers.

United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Partnership

EPA’s CHP Partnership is a network of CHP stakeholders promoting CHP’s role in providing affordable, reliable, and low emission energy, with a focus on CHP’s evolving role in enhancing resiliency and in supporting renewable integration and electricity dispatch flexibility. The Partnership serves as a knowledge base for impartial tools, policy information, and other resources to support enhanced understanding of CHP opportunities and benefits.

A cross-industry collaboration of multinational companies comitted to shaping leadership behavior and understanding the correlation between business ethics and performance.

Forest

Forest Stewardship Council

An independent, non-profit organization that protects forests for future generations. We are a member of FSC International and we have continued to work with FSC to advance activities that will be mutually beneficial to each organization and will seek to drive increased awareness of the FSC brand, to increase the growth of FSC-certified forest areas globally and to consider the opportunities for certification of non-wood alternative fibers. We funded FSC Canada to expand the scope of the current monitoring framework to include the monitoring of large intact forest landscapes (IFLs).

World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) Forests Forward initiative

A program that engages with companies and other stakeholders around the globe to deliver effective nature-based strategies for forests that help achieve their business and sustainability goals. Working together, WWF and participating businesses aim to realize meaningful, long-term benefits for nature, climate and people. We first joined WWF's Global Forest Trade Network (GFTN) in 2008 in the United Kingdom and signed a global agreement with WWF in 2011. In 2021, WWF launcehed 'Forests Forward' as a new program to succeed the GFTN. We work with WWF to help implement the company’s global fiber procurement policy, and WWF provides technical assistance and feedback as we progressively increase the amount of environmentally-preferred fiber used in making its tissue and personal care products.

Association whose mission is to lead the packaging industry through advocacy based on science, and enhance understanding of the role packaging plays in a more sustainable society, economy, and environment

Canadian Plastics Pact

The Canadian Plastic Pact unites Partners behind a vision of a circular economy for plastic, in which plastics stay in the economy and out of the environment. Kimberly-Clark joined as a Partner.

Center for Bioplastics and Biocomposites (CB2)

Being a member allows Kimberly-Clark to take advantage of opportunities through CB2 including leveraging research and development efforts through the center’s projects, receiving access to technologies developed by the center and having access to meet scientists and undergraduate and graduate students for potential future employment.

Association of Plastic Recyclers

U.S trade association that promotes development of the plastics recycling industry by providing leadership for long-term industry growth and vitality.

BioPlastic Feedstock Alliance

BFA is a multi-stakeholder forum for collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive the shift towards the responsible sourcing of plant-based plastics known as bioplastics and create a more circular economy.

Duitin

Duitin ise a circular economy platform that help producers to track & collect their post-consumer products for both recyclable and non-recyclable waste. Our team in Indnosia (Kimberly-Clark Softex) has been working with Duitin as part of the collection log of our used baby nappies recycling project. Collection is done via a convenient online application where consumers can connect with these companies and their teams of waste pickers to collect the used diapers.

EDANA 

The international association serving non-wovens and related industries. EDANA provides global leadership to create an environment beneficial to sustainable and profitable growth of the non-wovens and engineered fabrics and related industries to best serve our customers.

In 2020 we joined the Green Chemistry and Commerce Council (GC3), a multi-stakeholder collaborative that drives the commercial adoption of green chemistry by catalyzing and guiding action across industries, sectors, and supply chains

INDA is the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, which helps member companies in the nonwovens/engineered fabrics industry connect, innovate and develop their businesses.

Ocean Plastics Leadership Network (OPLN)

A community of leading companies and nongovernmental organizations are committed to solving the ocean plastics crisis.

Resource: Plastic

ReSource: Plastic supports WWF’s vision of No Plastics in Nature by 2030. The initiative aims to find solutions that support circularity and maximize environmental and social benefit by helping member companies put their large-scale plastic commitments into action.

Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC)

A membership-based collaborative that provide thought leadership and bring our members together to strengthen and advance the business case for more sustainable packaging.

U.S. Plastics Pact

The U.S. Plastics Pact is a collaborative initiative to unify stakeholder approaches across the entire plastics value chain to rethink the way plastic is designed, used, and reused. Kimberly-Clark joined as a Founding Activator.

WRAP UK Plastics Pact

The WRAP UK Plastics Pact is an ambitious initiative that brings businesses from across the plastics value chain together with the UK government and NGOs to keep plastic in the economy and out of the environment. Signatories of the pact have committed to hit several of bold targets by 2025.

Quality

Personal Care Products Council (PCPC)

A national trade association representing the global cosmetic and personal care products industry. Founded in 1894, the Council has more than 600 member companies who manufacture, distribute and supply personal care products in the United States. We participate in many of its standing committees and technical subcommittees, including the International Committee, Safety and Regulatory Committee, Quality Assurance Committee and Microbiology Committee. In addition, we participate in member-only meetings on subjects of common interest.

Responsible Flushing Alliance

The RFA's purpose is to educate the public about the items that should and should not be flushed down the toilet to keep our homes healthy. This will prevent clogs that lead to costly damage to our plumbing and sewer systems. RFA advocates for clear and prominent labeling of all items that should not be flushed so consumers have the consistent information they need to make smart flushing decisions.

Alliance for Period Supplies

The Alliance for Period Supplies was formed in partnership with the National Diaper Bank Network in 2018 to provide women and girls in need with period supplies. As the organization’s founding sponsor, our U by Kotex® brand has donated more than 25 million period supplies to help end period poverty in the U.S.

National Diaper Bank Network

Our Huggies® Brand is the Founding Sponsor of the National Diaper Bank Network, a nonprofit that works with a network of diaper banks, donors and sponsors to provide families with basic necessities and to raise awareness of diaper need. Since 2011, Huggies® has donated more than 200 million diapers and wipes.

The Toilet Board Coalition

The Toilet Board Coalition is a business led, public-private partnership that is made up of leading companies, government agencies, sanitation experts and non-profit organizations. Kimberly-Clark became a founding member in 2014 to help accelerate the development of the sanitation economy. Jenny Lewis, Vice President of Kimberly-Clark’s foundation, serves as a steering committee member.

AIM-PROGRESS

A forum of leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods manufacturers assembled to enable and promote responsible sourcing practices and sustainable supply chains. The forum’s key objectives include building supply chain capability, effectively assuring compliance to aligned standards among members and driving continuous improvement in member supply chains.

Foundation for Strategic Sourcing (F4SS)

The Foundation for Strategic Sourcing is a non-profit organization with a primary goal to establish a forum whereby CPG marketers, external manufacturers, and secondary packagers can share the best practices towards the creation of Industry Standards aimed at improving efficiency and reducing supply chain costs.

iWRC

iWrc is a digitally enabled platform for buying and selling Social Fingerprinted® recycled material. It enables a people-first circular economy, connecting brands in need of recycled materials with socially responsible waste-picking cooperatives, and improving health, safety, and financial wellbeing of waste pickers in the process.
